Principles

THE WHOLE-EARTH ECOLOMAT:

  1. All basic tools and materials are to be produced by a completely automated system, automatically self-repairing.

  2. Non-renewable resources cannot be used up any faster than their natural rate of replenishment (taking millions or billions of years).

  3. Pollution effects on the eco-sphere must not destroy any species nor decrease the longevity of human beings.

  4. Population cannot be allowed to increase beyond the 1975 level; nor industrial capacity beyond the 1990 level.

  5. Tools and supplies would be free in unlimited (not infinite) quantities to every responsible citizen in the world. What is not automatically available, can be provided on a do-it-yourself basis.

THE WHOLE-EARTH TELENET:

  1. Anyone can access anything and anyone may publish anything.

  2. Books, movies, records, slides and computer programs are merely different forms of information, and should all be accessible and publishable.

  3. All use of information is computer recorded and authors or publishers are 'paid,' in money in the existing economic regime, in knowledge of who and how many use the information, under the ecolomat regime to come.

WHOLE-EARTH ARISTARCHY:

  1. Neither nations nor private citizens shall possess the means of modern war.

  2. Institutions, bureaucracies, and legalities are eliminated in favor of humanist wisdom. The best people shall be selected by examination and given the responsibility.

  3. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, so the functions of government shall be strictly limited and defined by the theorems of value science, with removal and veto powers possible by either the humanist council or the people.

  4. The magistrates shall be humanists, people with a sense of the whole, and an appreciation for the whole, and the tests will be designed on that basis.
